This page is maintained by the Try My Ring team to explain, in plain language, what data our virtual ring try on tool collects, how it is used, and the controls you have. It is not legal advice or an independent certification.
What we collect
Hand photos and videos. When you upload a photo or a short video of your hand, we process it so we can place a ring on your finger.
Try on inputs. Ring links, descriptions, reference images, ring size, finger choice, and any refinement notes you provide.
Account data (optional). If you sign in, we store your email, display name, and any items you save.
Basic usage data. Standard request logs and aggregate analytics used to keep the service running.
How we use it
Your inputs are sent to a secure image generation service so we can render the ring on your hand. We do not use your photos to train any AI models, and we do not share them with third parties for marketing.
Rendered previews are shown back to you in the browser. If you tap Save, they are stored in your browser's local storage on this device.
Shareable links
When you create a share link, the preview image and the notes you chose to include are stored so anyone with the link can view them. You can add an optional password; when set, the image is only revealed after the password is verified, and social previews strip the image.
Storage and retention
Uploaded photos and generated previews are stored securely while you use the tool and are removed automatically after a short period unless you save them to your account.
Saved try ons, likes, and maybes on this device live in your browser's local storage. Signed in favorites live in your account database record.
Your controls
You can download a copy of your try on data, or delete uploaded hand photos and your local try on history from this device at any time:
The export includes your saved likes, maybes, and share metadata on this device. If you are signed in, your profile, favorites, try on history, and share records from your account are included too.
If you have an account, you can also manage saved items from your account. To request full account deletion, contact us at the address below.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of providers to run Try My Ring: cloud hosting, authentication and database (Lovable Cloud), and an image generation service used to render previews. These providers process data only to deliver the service.
Pinterest integration
Connecting Pinterest is optional. When you tap Connect Pinterest, we send you to Pinterest to sign in and grant access using OAuth. We request the minimum scopes needed to pull your inspiration: boards:read, pins:read, and user_accounts:read. We never ask for write, ads, or secret-board access.
What we store. Your Pinterest username and OAuth access + refresh tokens, encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM). When you import pins into a Try My Ring board, we save a link to the pin's image on Pinterest's CDN plus a permalink back to the original pin for attribution. We do not re-host or copy the image itself.
How we use it. Only to show your own Pinterest boards inside Try My Ring so you can add inspiration to your own boards here. We do not use Pinterest content to train models, do not share it with third parties, and do not display anyone else's Pinterest data to you.
Retention & revoking. Tokens are kept until you disconnect or delete your account. When you tap Disconnect Pinterest in Try My Ring, we revoke the tokens with Pinterest and delete them from our database. You can also revoke access anytime from your Pinterest account at pinterest.com/settings/apps.
Children
Try My Ring is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
